Extension Activity of
Bio-Science & Bio-Technology Department
All the students of the
department are members of BIOBANAS, an association which organizes various
educational, cultural and other social activities. The extension lectures,
scientific debates and Quizzes are organized round the Year. This organization
is managed and run by the students. Besides this, every year National Science
Day is also celebrated. On this occasion the students organize debates, quiz,
poster competition and exhibition. Blood donation and eye donation camps are
organized by the students time to time.
In 2004, Students' have
organized a fair 'BIOBANAS' from sept. 12 to 14, which included

Lectures
National Science Day: Every year, National Science Day is
celebrated. On this occasion various competitions (Debate, Poster, easy writing
etc. for school and college students) and Science Exhibition are organized. The
exhibitions are open for all the members of the institute and for general
public. We get overwhelming response from the villages and local inhabitants of
near by villages. Students from village schools are encouraged to participate in
debate and Essay competitions. Various exhibitions organized by BIOBANAS are
given below :
1997 : The exhibition was organized entitled BIOTECHNOLOGY- A New
Era.
1998 : Debate (at junior & Senior level), Essay (at junior & Senior
level),& Quiz competitions were organized.
The title for exhibition was Bio-Facets.
2000 : Debate (at junior & Senior level), Essay (at junior & Senior
level),& Quiz competitions were organized.
2003
: The exhibition was organized entitled 50
Years of DNA, 45 Years IVF-Blue Print of life.The title for exhibition was Bio-Facets.
2004 : Debate, Model, Poster, Rangoli, Competition were organized. The extension
lectures were also
